Yesterday my dad changed my coil packs on my vehicle. It was driving fine at first, then my uncle checked it to see what type of errors were going on with the code reader. He erased all my codes on my car. When I tried to start my car my car acted like it did not want to crank. Can someone tell me what is wrong? We checked everything. I'm so lost.

Hi,

Did he erase diagnostic trouble codes? That shouldn't have caused anything. When you try starting it, describe what happens. For example, let me know if it tries to start or if there is no response from the engine other than the starter engaging.

Also, if you remember the codes that he erased, let me know what they are also.

In most cases, a crank no-start condition is caused by either a loss of fuel or ignition spark. See if it will start for a couple of seconds if you use starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we will know it is a fuel-related issue. If there is no chance, check to make sure there is spark to the plugs.

Here is a link that explains how to check:

If possible, record it cranking and upload it for me to hear. It may help me.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

Sounds good. Do you need to use starting fluid to make it start? If so, the problem is likely a fuel-related issue.

Let me know.
