My overdrive was blinking, so I changed all the solenoid block and transmission filter and put new transmission fluid but after I drove it the overdrive still goes off. I had it read and it was pressure control solenoid b, what would that be?

Hi,

The solenoid is in the transmission, and it does basically what it's called. It controls line pressure within the system allowing different gears to be actuated or the OD.

You indicated the OD light is blinking. Have you checked to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes that would point you in the right direction? If not, that is where I would start. If you have already checked, let me know what, if any, codes were retrieved.

Also, has anyone scanned the can-bus for diagnostic trouble codes? CAN stands for controller area network.

Basically, the different computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. In this case, there is a navigation module. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link that shows how it's done:

If that isn't an option, then line pressure will need to be tested. I attached the directions below. You will need a pressure tester, but often times a parts store will provide one free of charge.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
