2002 Ford Mustang Overdrive off light

My o/d light is coming on,then after a couple miles it turns off what maybe the problem? It seems to drop onto second gear harder when coming to a stop.

Sounds like the PCM is seeing a problem in the trans and taking away OD.Have the PCM scanned for codes to see what failures the PCM has stored, get back to me with the results
