Thanks for using 2CarPros.

First, check to see if the brake light switch is getting power, is allowing power to exit, and is positioned properly.

First, confirm power to the switch. I have attached schematics for you to follow. The first one shows three wires going to the brake light switch mounted on the brake pedal under the dash. There is a yellow, brown, and white wire. The brown wire (low reference) is the ground, so you can check for continuity to ground. The white wire should have power always and the yellow wire should show power when the pedal is pressed.

Next, check and confirm the fuse and relay in the under hood fuse box are good. See picture 2.

Here are links that will explain testing and proper use of the tools you will be using:

If you find the switch is bad, here are the directions for replacement.

BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT
BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the driver side instrument panel (I/P) insulator closeout panel.

Picture 3

2. Remove the bolt (1) securing the brake pedal position switch to the brake panel bracket.
3. Remove the switch.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Picture 3
1. Connect the electrical connector on the switch.
2. Align the brake panel position switch to the stud (3).
3. Install the bolt (1) securing the brake panel position switch to the brake panel bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Install the driver side I/P insulator closeout panel.
5. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration.

Calibration procedure. This requires a scanner to complete:

BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR CALIBRATION

CALIBRATION CRITERIA
Brake pedal position sensor calibration must be preformed after the brake pedal position sensor or electronic brake control module (EBCM) have been serviced. The calibration procedure will set the brake pedal position sensor home value. This value is used by the EBCM to determine the action of the driver applying the brake system and to provide this information to the vehicle subsystems via the class 2 communication bus.

CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Select Chassis.
4. Select DRP/ABS/TCS/VSES.
5. Select Special Functions.
6. Select the BPP Sensor Calibration and follow the directions displayed on the screen.
