I have a power steering clicking noise not a grinding noise. Then all of a sudden I have a severe power steering fluid leak. Car has 90,000 miles I fear previous owner did not service system well. What is your recommendation?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

The first thing I need to find out is where it is leaking from, or approximately where. There are three things of concern, the power steering pump, power steering hoses, and the rack and pinion. I have attached exploded views of each component for you to see. Any of them can cause a leak if the part fails.

Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you find. The hoses and pump will be easiest to see under the hood. The rack and pinion gear is easiest from under the car. If you can take a picture and upload it for me, it will help me identify what the problem could be.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
