Sometimes it cranks and starts and sometimes it does not. I just replace the starter and the battery it was running up until a week ago then it started the same problem again. There no current going to the fuse box and there no crank. What could it be? Is it something I can do myself rather than pay all sorts of money to a mechanic?

When it does crank over I would use a test light at the starter solenoid trigger wire. Is sounds like you got a bad starter.

Here is a guide that can help you
