My car listed above is a hardtop. I've been all over the place looking and a limb busted my back glass. Why is it so hard to find a back glass for these cars?

Hey HANCHO1990,

Have you tried all the windshield replacement companies in your area?

Also the Ford dealer should still be able to source you a rear windshield for your vehicle.

Parts can be hard to find for a vehicle of that age, especially the rear glass which is less common to replace.

I've tried everything Safelite auto Ford dealership. I've tried custom glass makers and they don't even do them for that car.

Hey HANCHO1990,

It looks like the rear windshield is bonded in these cars. It will be stuck on using a urethane adhesive.

There is a potential you could source the part from a breakers yard but they would need to have a windshield removal tool to be able to remove the glass without breaking it.

It is not generally good practice to reuse bonded glass once it has been removed. You may not be able to find anyone who will then fit that used rear glass for you if you do not want to do it yourself.

Unfortunately, I cannot find another resource for a rear glass for your Mustang.

Best of luck with the search.

Regards, Joe
