Thank you, Ken. I didn't know such major component computers were exposed to engine compartment heat. I saw the inside of an engine computer in the Auto Engines book by James Duffy. I saw integrated circuits and power transistors tucked on the green silicon plate. The integrated circuits are strong enough to withstand engine compartment heat, but the power transistors are very delicate and thin and could melt and keep the transmission control module from controlling the two vehicle speed sensors and transmission range sensor. I thought such major component computers were located underneath the dashboard.

Yep, they used to, now the manufactures don't seem to mind it.

Now when I press Nissan Versa to select the make and model, another post comes on top of my post which is from mandylion23 and is asking whether the $334 dollar parts price and $400 dollar labor price to replace the spark plugs, intake manifold gasket, and valve cover gasket is a fair price for the above parts and labor. I happen to wonder the same thing as I have about the same mileage as mandylion23. Mandylion23 calls the valve cover gasket a rocker cover gasket, but I thought that only overhead valve and single overhead camshaft engines had rocker arm fulcrums, not dual overhead camshaft and variable valve timing engines. Anyway, while I know a lot about cars, I can't do my own repairs because I am afraid, I am going to mess up the car and that is why I have the same questions as mandylion23 about parts and labor charges.
