Replacing the driveshaft?

I am replacing my driveshaft. I started by installing the front end and made sure the ring is holding but the rear end is missing 1/4" to slide in its place. I don't know how much and how I can push it in its place. Thanks. I don't know how much and how I can push the rear end (toward the front?) Of the shaft.

It looks like you need to use a slide hammer, here are the instructions on how to remove and install the drive shaft. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.
