Brought car into shop they told me I need axle, not cover by my wqaranty tuneup, (had codes) had recall fix. What is the price of tune up oil change. I brough the shop the wires, plugs, flinter, axle. Was told I need axle driver side. Told me it had wear and tear not cover by my waranty. Is that true? I had extend waranty. They want to charge me $800.00 I think Hyundai auto shop is out of line. I did not ask for repair of axle. The problem car was brought in was my power door locks were locking all the time while in car driving, going over a bump, just locks. This is what they found besides. Never asked for the other problems. How should I handle this problem with them. I was not quote a price until they finished the job. I think this was wrong by the shop.

CV axles are not considered a "consumable" like brake pads, plugs etc. So it should be covered by warranty.

The shop should have got your permission to change axle and associated cost, BEFORE they installed it.

I would talk to service manager, if he refuses to acknowelege their error, go to Hyundai online and file a complaint.
