CAR RAN ROUGH FOR A FEW WEEKS,THEN LIGHT CAME ON,GAS/EXHAUST SYSTEM,TOOK TO SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTICS,SAID I NEEDED NEW PLUGS/WIRES.ONE OF THE SPARK PLUG WIRES WAS ALMOST MELTED THROUGH,THE THICK PART THAT GOES INTO MOTOR,ALL WIRES AND PLUGS WERE REPLACED WITH TOP OF LINE PRODUCTS,THE CAR APPEARS TO RUN SMOOTH AT SPEED BUT WHEN IDILING IN REVERSE IT STILL RUNS ROUGH,CONCERNED IT MAY MELT ANOTHER PLUG WIRE,WHY DOES IT STILL RUN ROUGH,IN PARTICULAR IN REVERSE WITH FOOT ON BRAKE? WILL IT MELT ANOTHER WIRE?

You need to have the idle speed control actuator checked out and also check for vacuum leaks
