My engine light is on....

My gas tank will not accept gasoline from the gas station's pump very easily, recently....It "clicks" off every 10-20 cents and it takes about half an hour to fill the tank...I have tried 5 gas stations with the same result...

What is the cause and...
Are these issues related?,

Thank You

The problem is either a check ball where the filler goes into the tank is stuck or sticking (designed to not allow fuel to escape the fuel tank in the event of a roll over), or if you notice, running along side of the large filler tube is a smaller breather type pipe that could be plugged not allowing air to exit the tank while filling.
