1998 Hyundai Tiburon Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Found this car on craigslist I like it however I am not sure if it is actually worth it. So below is a copy and paste of what they posted. I am not sure the cost or the time and energy that I will need to put in it so if you could just give me so enlightenment on this it would mean alot. (The car will not run at the time has broke cam shaft. I have done all the work to this car and now tired of putting money in it A lot of work has been done to this car new plugs, , wires, radiator, water pump, the hole head gasket set, timing belt, brakes, tires are not that old starter was just rebuilt could be nice car the ac works)

Hi there,

From what you report I would say that the head is bent, what some people do is just machine the head and don't check it for bend or twist. This over loads the cam and it will break or chew out a cam bearing.

How hard is it to repair the camshaft bearing? The person has already replaced the whole head gasket set, so how could it be bent? The car is for sale for $600.00 is it really worth it?
