2008 Hyundai Sonata Engine light stays on

Since yesterday, the amber indicator CEL stayed on while driving, I checked the gas cap, but it was ok.
I disconnected the battery cable for about 15 minutes
and the lite was then off, with engine running.
Was supprised the next day, that is was back on again!
This vehicle is very new, and not used very often,
was purchased in Amhurst NY. Problem.I live in Toronto Canada!
Any suggestions very welcome

Get the vehicle's computer scanned for OBD2 code/s this is your starting point finding out what's causing the light to come on. Overall you have a problem within the engine management system.
