I just past 5,000 miles and get the check engine light. Manual says it is caused by gas producing components. I can't see anything obvious, can I reset it by disconnecting the battery? I just traded my 2006 Sonata for this one, and in 57, 000 miles I never had a check engine light.

Hi ST1966,

Check engine light can mean anything connected with the engine management system, including the Evap system which means the gas cap.

Since the car is new, get back to the dealership to have a scan done and rectified.
