2002 hyundai sonata with 102000 miles 2.4 automatic, recently my car died going down the road, and wouldn't start back, I had it towed home and found out the timing belt had broke, it has been replaced now, but car still won't start. Timing has been checked and checked again, looks as tho it is timed correctly but still nothing. Already checked to make sure battery wasn't low. Anyone have any suggestions what else could be.

Were the valves checked for damage? Valves can get bent if the belt breaks while driving. Does the engine crank but not start? Or no crank?

Hi, When The timing belt broke, Did You Crank It Several times? If So It May have bent valves, Do a compression test Of all Cylinders First. This May be A interference Engine, Which Means That If you Crank It With The belt off, The valves Will Touch the pistons And bent.

Hope This Helps You,
Good Luck

Your welcome. If the engine cranks faster than it used to, it is probably bent valve(s).
