The vehicle was broadsided in the area of the rear whell. The wheel is leaning (neg. camber) about 10 degrees.
What component would fail first? the arms look and I believe the curveture of the spindle failed?

Hi there,

You will have to consider all the rear suspension components , and the strut top mounting in the body. The most obvious would be the stub axle assembly . lower control arm, and trailing arm. You will have to have the rear end alignment checked as a Deg or 2 will be enough to destroy a new tyre very quickly and give driving stability problems as well.
