what affects tire pressure more - altitude or ambient air temperature?
We drove from near Galveston to the Michigan UP for Christmas. when we left, my gauge said the tires had 42psi. the Jiffy Lube in Michigan checked pressure and said they had 35psi. i rechecked when we got home and my gauge says 42psi.
suppose my gauge is reading that far off?

Typicaly lose 1 psi for each 10 deg drop in temp
