I noticed that my battery cables and post were dirty and the battery light came on. I got a jump and car stalled on me again. I have a 1996 elantra 5speed. I brought a new battery and it still won't start. at one point the flasher did come back on but it seems like the battery cables are failing. What could this be?

I brought a new battery and it still won't start. Do you mean it cranks over and refuses to start or won't crank at all.

To check the cables either you do a voltage drop test or clean the cable ends and make sure it has tight connection
