I have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra with 70,000 Miles on it. I have noticed on initial startup a small hesitation when applying the gas peddle. If i back off and apply pressure eventually the car will go and will have no problems. The hesitation is only when i first start the car and apply the gas peddle. I have gotten a tune up involving plugs and wires and a new aur filter but it still does it. Currently i am having a timing belt replaced. What could be wrong?

Has the fuel filter been replaced? The fuel injection serviced? Only does it when cold?

No i have not had the fuel filter or the fuel injection serviced. And yes it only does it when the engine sits for long periods, usually over night.
