Electrical problem
2001 Other Hyundai Models 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My start fails to crank for hours when the engine is hot. Once the engine cools down 2-6 hours the start will work and perfrom properly. What is causing my starter to malfunction?

Chances are the starter is bad. What I need you to check is--- have a helper turn the key to the start position when this happens while you check to see if there is power to the smaller wire on the starter. There should be 12 volts.

Let me know what you find.
