1990 Other Hyundai Models Pops out of 1st gear

hi_1990 hyundai excel 5spd
drove about 20 miles(no problem) got off the freeway and after i stopped at the light and started to proceed it popped out of 1st gear(no warning) well got home using 2nd. so long story short checked a few things an figured out gear oil very very low. so i put in 2qts of 80/140 and now i'm going to let it sit the night. to give the oil a chance to sink in.. well my question is do you think thats what caused gear pop or if their another reason. also found where leak was and tightened that.

Most likely that is what caused the problem. However, it may have caused damage to a syncronizer. let me know how it goes.
