when cold, engine doesnt want to start easily,
after second or third start, it kick over but sounds like
its running on 2 cyl. driving it feels like pulling back- almost like not getting enough fuel.especially up hill.
Once warm, it seems to run ok, although very noisy lifters. starts ok when engine warm.
Have changed plugs, oil filter, air filter. recently

Hi Wally Pesu,

Symptoms indicates the engine is misfirng and when occurs only at cold engine, possible causes are:

1. Ignition coil or wires.
2. Fuel pressure.
3. Engine compression.

Have the above checked/tested.

Do you have any coolant losses issues?

Noisy valve lifters are due to worn or stuck hydraulic lifters and would intermittently work without any noise. Servicing or replacement of the lifters would be required.
