Engine Performance problem
1988 Hyundai Excel

My car starts fine and will drive ok but as soon as I stop (like at a stop sign) and hit the gas it dies or at least almost dies. Whats wrong?

Is this all the time? Or just cold, or hot? Was the distributor ever taken out? Timing belt done? At idle hot, look into throat of carb. See if you see a fuel spray even at idle, it should spray fuel, even with key off, should have choke fully opened, hot, and spray fuel as you open blade quickly or just like starting from a stop. Or EGR is coming on, causing hesitation, vacuum hose is off dist. Maybe? Good luck
