My brake light came on a couple days ago and today while driving my car started stalling, then a weird noise started happening under the car that sounded like chains and the car shut off. I attempted to turn it back on and it came on for a little then when I started to break it turned back off. Smoke was coming from under the hood. Any idea what it might be? It is in the shop, but I would like to have an idea of what it might be and how much money it will cost? Thanks so much for your time

We can't give an estimate until you know what is wrong but i'd say you probably have some sort of brake problem

Hey JADASELVY,

It sounds like your brake pads have worn down that's why the brake warning light is on, here is what they will need to repair so you have an idea.

Not the same car but you get the procedure

The smoke under the hood could be a valve cover gasket that is leaking or a coolant leak, here are some guides to help you

Let me know what you find

Best, Ken
