I recently saw on ebay that a performance chip
can increase your gas mileage, is this true and if so,
are there any negative aspects in installing one

Maybe gas will improve, maybe not, a lot of claims are made...one thing for sure is your warranty at Hyundai might be voided by installing without checking with your dealer!
