2002 Hyundai Elantra Runs hot after 5 minutes

Engine Cooling problem
2002 Hyundai Elantra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I changed radiator,and in 5 minutes i find engine very hot to touch and the gauge inside on dash in the middle,if i turn off won,t restart unless it cools.

It's normal for the engine to feel hot to the touch after running. Has the temp gauge ever gone onto the hot range? Has the check engine light come on?
