2000 Hyundai Elantra Engine Sputtering

Replaced battery.

If I depress the gas pedal while starting the car the car sputters to start. Take foot off gas, car starts with much less difficulty.

It is normal to start a fuel injected vehicle without touching the gas. That is how it should be done.
