When this button is in the PWR (power) mode, the engine rpm is not limited when you accelerate. For example, when you are entering a highway and need to get up to speed or when you are passing someone, you will have more rpm in the engine to accomplish the task at hand. However, one thing to consider is this: your fuel economy will suffer if you do this all the time. The NORM mode will limit the engine rpm (thus saving fuel), but you will not have as much power to pass or to get up to highway speed. Its a trade off either way, but boy does it make a little 4 banger engine seem like a 6 when taking off from a light!
