Brakes problem
1996 Hyundai Elantra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I was driving about 30mph, no change in gears, all of a sudden my car seemed to slam on the breaks on its own, the tires screeched I slammed forward and just as quickly the car kept going... all in a matter of a second or two... I was terrified. What can this be?
