Car stalled while I was driving and would not start again. I work at a school and had the Autoshop instructor take a look at it because sometimes his students will work on your car. I was told by the instructor that "the cams have siezed." He said it was too much for his boys to handle and recommended some mechanics. How big a problem is this? About how much would it cost to fix?

Hi:
replacing the cams is a big job. As far as a price, it's hard to say without knowing all of the damage that was done. Was the car low on oil? If not, make sure to determine what caused the cams to seeze. Regardless, if I had to give an extimate on repairs, I would guess around 1K.
