2006 Hyundai Accent overdrive button

I spilled a soda on gear shift - and then the overdrive button off light came on. I push the button to turn the overdrive back on and nothing happens. Is there a way to fix it myself without having to take it to a auto repair shop.

Something shorted. Chances are the switch will need replaced.
