2003 Hyundai Accent Stopped shifting

2 months after the dealer put in a used engine the transmission stayed in first gear. Park works but anywhere else I put the gear selector is first gear.Do you think this is a quick fix? What do you think went wrong? If the transmission is shot can I put the manual transmission from my 2001 accent in my 2003 accent?

Could be an electrical problem with one of the sensors in the front of the tranny, if you're lucky. Otherwise, it is probably internal in the tranny. Changing a vehicle from auto to manual is a lot more work than just switching the tranny out.
