2001 Hyundai Accent Blue Smoke

I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent with about 130000 miles and it runs good. When it idols for a few minuets or more it will start smoking. As long the rpm is above an idol it does not smoke at all. Any ideas?

Hi there,

I would be getting a leak down test to see how the rings are sealing, also is it puffing a cloud on cold start up, if so this will be valve stem seals, you can also look at upping the weight of the engine oil you are using and make sure that you don't forget regular servicing as oil dirty oil will break down and burn easily.
