I just installed a new fuel pump and changed the fuel filter and gave the car new spark plugs. But the car is starting but it wont stay with a steady idle. And when i push on the gas it wont respond..And then the car dies. You can here the fuel pump come on and it has pressure. What else should I check?

Hello ric1418

Check for a binding throttle shaft or cable.
Check the sensor.
Disconnect the connector from the sensor.
Measure the resistance between terminals 2 (sensor ground) and 3 (sensor power).
Specification should be 0.7-3.0 kohm.
Connect an analog ohmmeter between terminals 2 (sensor ground) and 1 (sensor output).
Operate the throttle valve slowly from the idle position to the full open position, and check that the resistance changes smoothly in proportion with the throttle valve opening angle.
If the resistance is out of specification, or fails to change smoothly, replace the sensor.
