Transmission problem
1999 Hyundai Accent 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

The car is able to turn over and start, but when you put the shifter into drive, reverse or what-have-you, it won't move. The engine just revs, and the RPMs spike. We just changed the ignition coil and throttle sensor a couple of weeks ago, but that was for other problems. The other night I was able to shift it into neutral and let it roll backward (our driveway is on a hill), then I put it in drive and it SLOWLY moved forward, I then shifted into reverse and something must have engaged because it lurched and began to move with no problems. I don't want to drive it just in case I have this problem again, and want to fix whatever the problem may be. Any suggestions?

you need to have a transmission shop look at the vehicle .. could be the clutches are bad or the torque convertor .. it could also be a faulty solonoid valve !
