Transmission problem
1998 Hyundai Accent Two Wheel Drive Automatic 89000 miles

when I am driving my car it will shift normally through all 4 gears but suddenly when i come to a stop or slow down and start driving, it will only shift in second and third gear, but if i stop and turn off the engine and restart it, it will shift normally through all 4 gears again.this erratic shifting happens often please help

When was the last transmission service-fluid/filter?

Get the throttle position and vehicle speed sensor checked-these components input signals to the computer indicating the throttle and governor pressure to provide proper shifting-up/down shift.

Dont forget the 10 year 100,000 mile warantee...if not too late go to Hyundai servece, if there are any codes, get them read...
