Hi,

Is the clicking sound coming from under the dash? I ask because it could be one of the HVAC actuators.

Are you having any issues with the HVAC system? For example, are you able to control the air temperature entering the vehicle? Are you able to control airflow direction?

Let me know.

Joe

The clicking is coming from the rear right side area where the cup holder is. The Ford/Lincoln service Rep. Said that it was the rear actuator and that it would cost over $400 to repair. I would like to repair it myself to save the money. Also, if I can replace it, does the actuator need calibrating.

When I turn on the rear vents, I hear an on and off-air pulsing noise, as if the air blows, stops for a second or two, and then blows again. This is a continuous noise opposed to the blower being constant.

Hi,

That is where the auxiliary mode door actuator is located. As far as calibration is concerned, the manual doesn't indicate the need for one, so it should be fine.

I attached the directions below for replacement. The directions are for a standard-length vehicle. If you have the L version (extended length), let me know so I can get the correct directions.

If you look at the pics below, the first is a standard length, and pic 2 is for the L model. Pics 3 and 4 are the directions for the standard-length vehicle.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
