HVAC actuator motor control

Have a hammering sound coming from under dash when first start up or turn AC on/ off. Sounds like the actuator skips some teeth them catches after 5or 6 clicks.
Dealer says dash must come out to repair at $200 to $1,000!
Is there a video showing repair on a 2009? Have seen Video on older models. Looks like this has been a problem for Ford for a long time.

Need detailed instructions on repair of 2009

It depends on which one it is as there are two if it's the one for direction like defrost heat a/c vent then the instrument panle as to co eout as well as the stering column has to be dropped. If it's the air inlet bye glove box, the glove box has to be dropped down and you can reach the two screws that hold it in as well as the electrical.
