humming noise from wheels/axle?

Above 50 MPH there is a rhythmic humming noise I believe is coming from the wheels or axle. What could this be?

This is common when the tire tread is scalloped, or you have a wheel bearing hub that is going out. Can you tell if the noise is coming from the front or rear of the car? Here is how to change out the front bearing hub in case you need it. If the tire tread is scalloped, you might be able to rotate the tires front to rear. Both front bearings and rear or about the same amount of work, this video shows the job being done on a similar car, the process is the same.
