I JUST REPLACED MY SERPERTINE BELT AND TENSIONER. THE NEW TENSIONER PULLEY IS SMOOTH. THE OLD ONE WAS SMOOTH BUT WITH A LITTLE LIP AROUND THE EDGES AS TO KEEP THE BELT FROM FALLING OFF. THE ALTERNATOR IS TO THE LEFT AND THE AC TO THE RIGHT BOTH RIDGED AND WITH A LIP. IM WORRIED ABOUT THE SMOOTH SIDE OF THE BELT ON THE TENSIONER FALLING OFF THAT PULLEY.

THANKS

Is the replacement belt tensioner aftermarket, that may be the issue. I would possibly seek at the least, one from GM for a 6.5 application, or one from AM General that would be ordered through a Hummer dealer.
