Dear friends,

I have problem with Humidity Sensor. There is BCM error P-1009-00. It is probably faulty Humidity Sensor near rear inside mirror. I do not know the part number. I found internet that it could be 55111389AF, but it is discontinued.
Could you please tell me what number, which car it is for, and I should buy and how looks the procedure replacement like?
Have a nice day,
Pawel

Can you post the last eight of the VIN so that I can look up this part and make sure we get the correct number?

I am attaching the testing and the process to replace the sensor.

Luckily this is pretty easy testing. It says to clear the code and if it returns then replace the sensor.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

So, there is a chance that this is just an erroneous code so that is why they have you clear it and recheck to see if it returns.

Then let me know what your VIN is, and I can get that part number. Thanks

Thank you for your reply. It is helpful.
The last eight of VIN is HR778803.
I was in the service and the error came back after clearing.
Is it necessary to disconnect the main power battery while disconnecting this sensor or just do not to power the accessories or do not to start the engine?
And after replacing the sensor is it necessary to clear BCM again (it is an additional cost), or after replacing sensor will be working well?
Have a nice day,
Pawel

Thanks. Looks like that part number was correct. Here is what I show as the OEM part:

55111389AF

However, I think your issue is that this part as superseded to a new number and that original number has discontinued.

So, you need to search for this number:

68440808AA

I show over 1,000 dealerships in the USA have this part, so it is available. I am attaching all this info below.

You do not need to program it and more than likely the code will go stored so you do not need to clear it. Once there is a functional sensor the BCM will keep the code, but it will not prevent the operation.

Plus, it is always a good idea to disconnect the battery when doing an electrical repair but that is not critical on this one. Just leave the ignition off and you should be fine until you plug the new sensor in.

Please let me know if you have other questions. Thanks

It is not so beautifully. My humidity sensor is not in this place. There is camera sensor and rain sensor. I think that humidity sensor could be where I marked blue arrow. But I cannot open this cover/housing. How it goes out? Is there this sensor?
