There is brake pad noise and wear and the pads likely need to be replaced but does this cause a howling noise or is more likely a bearing/hub issue? Do I need to get the hubs pressed from the steering knuckle on this model?

howling noises are usually wheel bearings or axles making noise the bearing is bolted to spindle and axle, axle nut first then drive backwards then remove nuts/bolts holding bearing in.
