New cluster installed by dealer ship and programmed to my car. Oil change less than two months ago. The "Serviced Required" notification comes on every time I start the car. I can push the trip reset button to get it to show the trip miles. But I have to do this every time I start the car. How do I reset the oil life warning? I tried what I found on the internet but that didn't work. This is not the check engine light.

Good morning,

All you need to do is to turn the ignition key to the on position and press the accelerator pedal to the floor and let it up 3 times in 10 seconds and that should reset the service reminder light.

I also attached the other method for you as well below.

Roy

RESET THE ENGINE OIL LIFE INDICATOR

NOTICE: The GM Oil Life system does not know how much oil is in your engine, so you will have to check the oil level regularly.

1. With the engine running or the ignition key in "RUN" and the engine off, press and release the trip odometer reset stem until the "OIL LIFE" message is displayed in the message center.
2. Press and hold the trip odometer stem for a few seconds until a chime sounds five times and "RESET" is shown in the message center.

3. The message center returns to displaying the odometer after the reset is complete.

I tried that and it doesn't seem to reset it. Is there another reason that it would still be showing it?

Yes, I tried both and it does go back to the odometer reading. But when I shut the car off and restart it, it shows the service required again and it stays on until I push the reset button again.

You should try the gas pedal once again.

Key on, engine off. Push the pedal to the floor and let it up. Do this 3 times in about 5 seconds and see if the light goes out.

If that does not work, you will need a scan tool to reset the light.
