My mechanic tells me the throttle body along with the sensor inside is bad, as my redeced engine power
alert comes on often now . Im told by mechanic that sensor is sealed inside throttle body and I need to
replace the entire throttle body $320 at GM dealership and $307 at Advance Auto. Just need someone
to confirm this info before I go spend this amount of money . Thanks Scott Bolivia NC

I also have read that faulty wiring at the throttle body and or dirty
throttle body can cause the red end powr dislpay to come on. Just trying cover all posible causes before buying the new throttle body . Thanks

of course its always a good idea to check wiring. unplug the TPS and look at the plug for dark or brown marks as this would indicate a poor connection

Engine Performance problem
2001 GMC Sierra V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My trucks throttle has been sticking in the cold while on the freeway. (not very safe) Must shut truck off and restart to bring rpm's back down. Engine runs at erratic idle when stopped in park or in gear. Ran a diagnostic and got codes p0101, p0106, p0121. Suspect throttle position sensor. Any advice. Where is sensor located? It's -35 c outside and I don't want to be crawling around in the snow trying to find it.
