I need to replace this as it is defective.
I have a new one coming but cannot find where it is located and how tough it is to replace it?

Any clear images or video of showing exactly where it is located and if anything has to be taken off to get to this switch sensor

Thanks, JR

Hello,

The power steering switch is located behind lower left hand side, rear of the engine, on the steering rack (see diagram below).

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

Hi, thanks for the help and reply.

The images you posted are small, so hard to see
Since the engine sits sideways, do you mean on driver's side near firewall
and can I get to the sensor from the engine bay and not have to jack the car up?

Tried looking straight down from the top of the engine bay.
Left corner of driver's side firewall and could not see the SWPS.

Is this only seen, replaced by having to jack the car up and work from the underside?

Thanks again - JR

It is located on the rack, the part where the steering wheel shaft meets the gear. If you are facing the same direction of the car, it will be on the right side of that steering shaft. So, it will be pointed towards the center of the car.
Let me know if this makes sense.

Can it be seen from looking down from engine bay as there is very little free space in engine bay?

Thanks - JR

You might be able to see it at the bottom of the steering shaft. Then again the view could be blocked by few components.

Even in the sun I cannot even see the shaft for the steering wheel much less the PSPS. :-(
I hope this does not mean I have to start ripping other parts to get to it, being how old the parts are.
Guess I will have to jack this heavy tank up to replace a simple switch, but the replacement content you attached made it simple of just taking on/replace and bleed air out. :-(

Shot of left, firewall, by brake master/slave and not enough free space to even get my hand down there.

When you jack up the car it is fairly easy to access. Just unplug the connector and unscrew the sensor. Let me know how it goes.
