One if the bolts is hidden and no way to get to, another bolt was removed, and a 3rd is stripped.

Hi,

Is this the engine oil cooler? If it is, I attached the directions below. They are vague as always.

Take a look at it and let me know if I have the correct part. Also, you indicated 3 bolts. There should be more. And last, is the bolt head stripped or the threads?

Let me know.

Oh okay, I will double check to make sure if there are 3 or 5, yes, I had my shares of stripped bolts but this one was already stripped and little room to work with, it's the outside threads where you attach a socket to remove it, most left. One on bottom was removed, one to the right is blocked by a frame.

Hi,

As far as the stripped one, do you have access to it? If so, they make bolt extractors for bolts with stripped heads. I attached a pic from an AutoZone site of what they look like below. If you have these, they should remove them.

Now, the one blocked by the frame is a different issue. Is there any clearance between the bolt and frame?

Let me know.

Joe

There is very little clearance, I will try once I get the other bots out. Yes, the stripped one has nothing blocking it, it's the one on the left.

Got the tool set and with some banging and grinding the side if the oil cooler to be able to fit it on, it worked. Worst one was on right, with 1/4" socket, torx bit, and patience it cane out. Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad you got it out. As far as the torx, I have no idea why. LOL My favorite is working behind the engine where you can't see and trying to find the correct size torx bit and attach it to remove the bolt. Ugh! LOL

Regardless, I'm glad to know you got it. Feel free to come back anytime in the future.

Take care,

Joe
