I have the vehicle listed above SLK c230 compressor, that I believe has a bad K-40. Not only do I believe it is a bad k-40 but I think the previous owner installed a k-40 that wasn’t meant for the car. How do I go about getting the original serial number that is meant to go inside my SLK? I just want to ensure that I have the correct k-40 that belongs to the car.

Hi,

The only way I know to identify the correct part number is via a dealership. They will need the vehicle's VIN number to identify it.

Here is the concern. Because of the model year, it is likely a discontinued part. That leaves finding one online that is remanufactured.

Let me know.
