How is the front assembly under the steering wheel removed to access HVAC actuators?

The knee bolster comes out after removing a few bolts.

Which actuator are you having the issue with?
Then blend door or the mode door actuator?

I know what the correct term "Knee Bolster"!

I was planning to replace all three. I have a ticking noise that starts when the ignition switch is on and ends when it is turned off. The fan blows what appears to be recirculated air and only through the defrost vent. The other two dials have no effect on the air temperature or circulation.

So, the air only blows from the defrost vent right? which will be the mode door actuator.
When you say the other two dial not having any effect on the temperature, do you mean the temperature stays hot or cold regardless of the setting? As that could be the blend door actuator.

Keep in mind that the recirculation actuator is under the dash, and it will require removal of the panel. So, if there is a recirculation issue you might want to keep the other actuator in mind.

The air temperature of the air from the defrost vent matches the temperature within the vehicle. It is neither hot or cold.
