How to deactivate the theft security system?

Just changed my key cylinder on my van and theft system light is blinking on instrument cluster dashboard.

Hi,

If the key tumbler has been replaced and you are unable to use the old keys, the (PATS) passive anti-theft system needs to be programmed to accept/recognize the new key. This requires a scan tool that can communicate with the PATS system.

I attached the directions below. Most people don't have the tooling to do it. If that is the case, you may need to contact a locksmith or a shop with the equipment needed.

I wish I had a better answer, but that is what is required.
